Orpheus is an ancient story of love and loss and adventure. A story of this world and the next. Of how far we’d go for the people we love and what happens when we come back empty handed. From the depths of the underworld to the tops of the highest mountains, Orpheus is an epic tale of gods and challenges and love reimagined for the modern day. From the back rooms of pubs to terraced houses and cab journeys, Alexander Wright and Phil Grainger transform this ancient myth in to a modern day epic about people, our relationships and what we’ll do to try and stay together.

Told through a fusion of hair raising spoken word and original, live, soulful music, ORPHEUS sits in between spoken word poetry, an acoustic gig and a theatre show. Split in to two 40 min halves, it is designed to be performed in social spaces; the village hall; the back room of a pub; as part of a gig night; in a more traditional theatre context; or at festivals. We want to bring the show to where people are, to tell a great story and play some great music.

Orpheus will be touring in 2018.  For more information on booking the show contact veronica@theflanagancollective.com
